I work on a self-compiled kernel (2.6.12-RC4) with a Geforce 5700FX NVIDIA. My computer is pretty humongous (2 GB Memory, 3. GHz).

I downloaded the sofware and a part of the Scenery. I got a 14 day temporary licence. The start up of the sofware is not friendly. I went directly to Quick flight and I got a Segmentation violation. Then, I went to FlightPlanner and the software told me "sorry, you do not have the right to use these gliders". Finally, I sneaked to get the Gröb working and I was able to start the flight.

Also, I get this cryptic message:

Load situation file /usr/local/games/SilentWings/data/situation/default.stn
failed!

If I need to generate this file it should be nice to tell me how to do it.

I have no sound (conflict with KDE?). I did not go much further on the testing. I had a hard time to set my X server to have 24 colour depth. I suspected that the memory fault could be have been caused by the 24 bit story. Now, I am not that sure.

Personally, I feel that the sofware is not yet ready for intensive utilisation.
