Just a thought but I think it would be neat if fellow SW flyers could share their experiences and maybe pass on tips on how to fly and complete tasks. I am sure that the number of users of this simulator must vary in ability from complete novices to seasoned competion pilots. For my own experience in gliding I have not flown for about 10 years but have about 170 hours in gliders from the humble Rhonlerke to the 19m Kestrel. I have never competed but have my Silver C and have managed a 150km triangle in the Kestrel.
With Silent Wings I am trying to duplicate a typical club pilot and so am limiting myself to the Grob Twin until I have managed a few tasks. So far I have set the weather at about mid level for thermals and cloud base 8000ft with 8 kts breeze. I am trying to do Carson City-Truckee-Carson City. I have made it to Truckee twice but landed out on the way home both times. I am using the McCready ring and I feel it is a great help. I am wondering what experiences others have had in a similar vein. Lets hear them.
